How it works
Your average cost is what you paid in total divided by the shares you hold.
Average = (Shares₁ × Price₁ + Shares₂ × Price₂ + ...) / Total shares
To reach a target average, buying at a price below it pulls the average down and above it pulls it up. The target must sit between your average and the buy price.
