How it works

A 4-for-1 split turns each share into four, each worth a quarter of the old price. The position is worth the same.

Shares after = Shares × New / Old

Price after = Price × Old / New

A reverse split, such as 1-for-10, works the same way in the other direction. Past splits compound: one share before two 2-for-1 splits is four shares today.
